JOHAN KOESLAG AWARD
The Human Integrative Endocrinology Award was instituted by the Society in 2019 in honour of the late Emeritus Professor Johan Koeslag’s research activities. Not only did he author numerous publications focusing on ‘whole body’ physiology, he served as President of the society between 2001-2004, and he also designed our first PSSA logo (1990) – ‘Adam receiving the spark of human life in the cradle of Africa’. After his internship at the Pretoria Academic Hospital he practiced for 2 years as general practitioner at the Van Riebeeck Medical Centre and Monument Park centre, Pretoria.
